MOTOR DRIVER CHARGED
INTOXICATION ALLEGED
ACCIDENT AT WHANGAREI

At the Police Court to-day, before Mr. G. N. Morris, S.M., William McLeish appeared on a charge that while in a state of intoxication in charge of a motor vehicle he caused bodily injury to Mrs. Linda May Collier on March 9, 1935. Senior-Sergeant E. Finch, in applying for a remand of seven days, said it was not an ordinary caso of intoxication. The car when driven by accused, mounted the footpath, striking a man and also a woman, causing her to fall on the bumper of the car. The magistrate granted the remand, and allowed accused bail of £IOO.
