DEATH OF FARMER
THROWN FROM SLEDGE VERDICT AT THE INQUEST «§* [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT") OPOTIKI, Monday The adjourned inquest concerning the death of Mr. E. L. Wagner, a farmer, who was killed through being thrown from a sledge when the horses bolted, was concluded to-day by Mr. F. J. Short, coroner. W. A. Mortleman, farmer, of Matawai, gave evidence that following information given by a boy, lie went to some lupins where he found deceased's body lying on the ground fully dressed. Milk was scattered around. To the coroner witness said he had heard that one horse had the habit of bolting. Evidence was also given by C. Lingman, jun., who found the body, and also by N. O. Holloway, a neighbour of deceased, who stated that he knew deceased had had an accident previously with two horses and a mowing machine. The coroner returned a verdict that death was caused by injuries accidentall v received.
