FORD REORGANISATION

A vast reorganisation scheme, entailing, among other things, the manufacture throughout of the Ford V-8 in England, has been embarked upon by Ford Motor Company, Liniited, at their works at Dagenham. This mode! is now made at the Ford factory in Ontario, Canada. Preparations are being pushed forward with the utmost speed to accommodate the additional plant required. When the reorganisation is completed the total of 7000 British employees now engaged in the making of Ford cars at this factory for home, colonial and Continental uso, is likely to be greatly increased. Sir Percival Perry, K.8.E., chairman, Ford Motor Company, Limited, announced that it is hoped to make the change-over in the summer, and that practically all the machinery in the Dagenham factory is of British make. There will be no change of policy and everything, from the pig-iron upwards, for the new V-8 will be made at Dagenham.
