TO FRESHEN ARMCHAIRS
Backs and arms of upholstered armchairs, which soon show wear, can be freshened considerably by the following treatment. First of all, rub well with a cloth dipped in petrol. Then take a piece of sponge or another cloth, wring out in very not and soapy water, and rub -the parts briskly with this, washing out the sponge frequently m the water. Next, wring out another cloth in clear water and wipe off all soap. Then let the chairs dry thoroughly, if possible overnight. When perfectly dry neat some bran in the oven and rub it well into the upholstery. When the chairs look clean and fresh brush out the bran with a good stiff brush until no trace of it remains.
