The Dargaville Club's affiliation was arvproved and forwarded to the New Zealand Council. It was decided to adviset that amateur* are not in order in competing against x professionals at picnics or aimilar gatherings, and that separate races should be , s arranged. The centre intends to support strongly the re-establishment of Australia v. New Zealand contests in athletics. Selectors appointed for. the Auckland team for the Dominion championships were as follow: —Messrs. S. Gudsell. A. Moon and H. L. Towers. Mr. C. A. Porter (Otahuhu) ' , was appointed a new member of the executive in place of Mr. J. C. Tipping, now resident in Sydney. ! ... The arrangements for the provincial championships to be held next Saturday are well in hand and the secretary reported record entries. A feature is the number of ~ country competitors. t? Mr. H. L. Towers, who was manager of the Dominion team, to the Melbourne Cen- ~ tenary Games, gave an interesting account y of his experiences. ..•> ■
