The indications are for southerly to south-easterly winds, strong at times on parts of the east coast, and in Cook Strait, but mainly moderate. Seas rather rough north of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura, elsewhere smooth to moderate. In the eastern Tasman Sea, moderate to fresh southerly winds and moderate seas. Weather still cloudy along the east in the far north, with scattered hut, mainly light rain at times, fair to fine elsewhere. Temperatures cool.
