Mix together 3oz. of tin, Doz. bismuth and 6oz. mercury, and warm in a small, clean iron vessel or a largo iron ladle. Paste the edge of the glass with a strip of paper to prevent the mixture from running off during tho process of silvering. Thoroughly clean and warm the glass, then pour a small quantity of tho hot (not boiling) mixture on to it, tilting the glass first one way and then the other until the worn spots are well covered. Kemove the paper, set the glass aside to dry, and when quite hard apply a protective coat of paint to the back.
