When the man saw the constable he made an attempt to run away, but he was overpowered aftsr a brief scuffle by Constable Christia ison and his son, Lyndon Christiamson. The arrest concludes the extensive search which has been in progress since an unknown man. thought to be the man taken into custody, jumped into the Wairoa River near Tauranga from the AucklandTaneatua express on January 29.
