NEW SOUTH WALES MANY ROOFS BLOWN OFF HOUSE COMPLETELY WRECKED TOWNSPEOPLE TERRIFIED By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received February 5. 10.35 p.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 5 A tornado struck the coalmining town of Bellbird, on the northern coalfields of New South Wales, today. One house was completely wrecked and the roofs of many more were blown off. Timber and iron were hurled into the streets. Terrified inhabitants rushed from their homes and were enveloped in dust and debris which fell about them.

The disturbance lasted only a few minutes. At Cessnock, three miles away, nothing more than a slight breeze was experienced.
