GOLDEN MILLER TOP-WEIGHT LONDON, Jan. 24 Golden Miller, winner of last year's Grand National, has been awarded top weight for the 1935 Grand National with 12st 71b., which is the maximum. He has to give two stone to 32 out of the 60 entrants. Thomond, third last year, is second top weight, with list 131b., and the third top weight is the French horse Noiseau, with list 91b. TE AROHA JOCKEY CLUB PROGRAMME FOR NEXT MONTH The programme for the Te Aroha Jockey Club's annual ruco meeting, to be held on February 21} and 25, is published in this issue. The sum of £3435 is allotted in jirize-uioney, which is an average of nearly £215 per race. The leading events are the Herries Memorial Cup, of £SOO, including a gold cup of £SO; the Champion Hack Cup Handicap, of £350, which includes a gold cup vulued ut £SO, donated by Amalgamated Theatres, Limited, which company has also given a gold-mounted whip for the rider of the winning horse; ayd the President's Handicap, of £3OO. Nominations for all events close on Friday, February 8. AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB CLOSING OF NOMINATIONS Nominations for all events at the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting to be held on February 10 and 20, close with the secretary, Mr. A. G. Mabee, at 5 p.m. next Friday. The committee of the Auckland Trotting Club has arranged for a two-year-old parade at 11 a.m. on the first day of next meeting and owners will thus have an excellent opportunity of giving their young horses some valuable experience in public. It has been decided that only licensed drivers may participate. Entries for the parade will be received by Mr. Mabee until 5 p.m. next Friday.
