NEW SOUTH WALES TWO MEN DROWNED HEAVY LOSSES REPORTED ORCHARDS AND CROPS By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyricht SYDNEY. Jan. 15 The central and southern tablelands and the south-western districts of New South Wales have been lashed by terrific storms. Flooded roads and broken wires have resulted in communications being disorganised, and a number of towns are practically isolated.

The main business' centre at Orange, 192 miles west of Sydney, was flooded to a depth of two feet and extensive damage was done.

Tuinut. 264 miles south-west of Sydney, was swept by the hurricane, -and other centres have reported heavy losses in orchards and to crops.

A telephone switchboard at Dorrigo, on the north coast, was struck by lightning and hurst into flames. Two fatalities are reported as the result of the storms. Frederick Smith, aged 22, was drowned while attempting to cross a flooded stream on horseback near Wagga Wagga, 309 miles southwest of Sydney. Ernest Flvnn, aged 52, was drowned when his car was swept away by a flail of water which came down a creek bed which is usually dry, near Bathurst, 145 miles west of Sydney.
