HIGHWAYS IMPROVEMENTS The work of sealing Beach Road and Clevedon Road main highways. Papakura, is to be proceeded with immediately, according to a report presented to the Papakura Town Board by the chairman. Mr. H. E. McEntee. at a meeting of the board last evening. Mr. McEntee said that after con: sulfation with the Main Highways Board's engineer it had been agreed that local workmen .should carry out the work of preparing the surface of the roads for the laying of.the bitnmen-. The latter work was to be done by the firm supplying the material. " Ail abundant supply of water from Hunua Gorge in spite of the dry season was reported by the foreman. Thp average daily amount of water used at Papakura at present was about 120,000 gallons, and 700.000 gallon? flowed over the spillway each day.
