MAILS FROM AUSTRALIA
TWO ARRIVING TO-DAY ENGLISH AIR DESPATCH Two mails from Australia, including Empire air mail, will reach New Zealand to-day. The Marama is due at Auckland from Sydney at ten o'clock this morning with 116 bags of Australian mail, including 88 bags for Auckland. The Wanganelia is expected at Wellington from Sydney this afternoon with Australian mail and also Empire air mail. She has 19 bags for Auckland and this mail should" arrive by train to-morrow morning. The Marama left Sydney on Friday and the Wanganelia on Saturday. Had the Wanganelia sailed on Friday, her usual day, the air mail would have missed the connection and it would have had to remain in Sydney until next Thursday, when the Maunganui sails for Wellington, where she is due next Monday. The previous air mail to reach New Zealand missed connection with the Monowai, which left Sydney for Wellington on Friday, January 4. The mail was brought by the Mariposa, which arrived at Auckland on Saturday.
