Galilee y . . thoroughbred yearlings KOATANUI AND WESTMERE [from ocb own correspondent] WANGANTJI, Sunday It would be difficult to assess the values that would bo attached to the respective drafts of yearlings from the Koatanui and Westmere studs this year, but it would be safe to regard them as the most valuable consignments ever sent from the famed "\S anganui studs. Mr. Curries yearlings are already at Trentham, having been taken last week, while Mr. John Donald's go South by float in two batches, one lot on Monday and the other on Tuesday. Mr. Currie is submitting 12 yearlings, seven of them by XAmond. three by Posterity and two by Lysander. Only three arc fillies, the other nine being colts. Mr. Donald's yearlings for the sale number 17, the largest draft ever sent from Westmere. and the quality is considered the highest in the history of the stud. No fewer than 13 of them claim the defunct Chief Ruler as their sire, while the other four are by Captain Bunsby. All but three are colts and when it is remembered that Chiet Ruler colts have done so well, notably Admiral Drake. Senior, Cherry King. Panjandrum. Dalston and Upoko Ariki, it may be expected that good prices will be obtained for <tbis consignment. Twelve months ago Mr. Currie sent down 12 yearlings and they averaged just under SOD guineas apiece. Mr. Donald's 1934 yearlings totalled 15, and, excluding three of Captain Bunsby's progeny, they average not far short of 300 guineas. It will be interesting to note how the demand goes for the 1935 yearlings from these two studs. THAMES TROTTING CLUB TWO TROPHIES DONATED [ray telegraph —OWN correspondent!
