INTOXICATED MOTORIST

PROSECUTION AT OTAHUHU A plea of guilty was entered by Stephen Bishop when charged in the Otahuhu Police Court yesterday with being found in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor-car. » Sergeant Cahill said accused was arrested shortly after 6 p.m. on Saturday. He had been observed endeavouring to start his car, and when a constable went to investigate he found accused was intoxicated. A medical certificate confirming accused's condition was submitted.

The presiding justices said they would reduce the penalty to £2 and costs in view of accused's circumstances. Accused was prohibited for 12 months.
