UNUSUAL MOTOR CRASH INSECT IN DRIVER'S EVE Two passengers received facial injuries when a car struck a tree at Castlemaine, Victoria, recently. Mr. Torrance, of East Melbourne, was driving the car when a grasshopjier struck him in the eye, causing him to lose control. When the car struck the tree the windscreen was shattered and a rear wheel was damaged. Mrs. Torrance was thrown against the windscreen, and a- piece of glass penetrated her right eye and caused several cuts on the face. Her daughter received cuts on the chin and suffered shock. An 'operation was performed on Mrs. Torrance and a piece of glass was removed from the eye. Mrs. Torrance returned to Melbourne to receive treatment by a specialist.
