MOTHERLESS KITTENS

A DOMESTIC PROBLEM A domestic problem in the cat world was mentioned at a meeting last week of the Christchurch Poultry, Piceon, Canary and Cat Club. A member stated that his Persian cat had had four fine kittens, but had deserted them on the day they were born. The kittens were too valuable to lose, so he had been feeding them from a bottle for some days. Ho inquired whether any member could supply a cat as a fostermother. Someone said that he had had the same trouble, and had overcome tho difficulty by introducing the kittens to a warehouse cat—a very satisfactory arrangement. The difficulty was solved by a member volunteering to supply his cat as a foster-parent to the waifs.
