YIELDS OF COMPANIES Golden Sands (near Greymouth).—• 23qz. lOdwt., for 30 shifts of eight hours. BENDIGO GOLDLIGHT DREDGE At the first annual meeting , of the Bendigo Goldlight Dredging Company, Limited, held at Dunedin last week, Mr. T. C. Coull, chairman of directors, said that the question of water supply had given the directors considerable /concern owing to continued dry weather. However, it was expected with the arrangements now made that there would be sufficient water for the dredge. The construction of tho dredge had taken longer than estimated, but it was now practically finished. BELL HILL OPTION Authority to grant an option over the company's rights was given to the directors of the Bell Hill Sluicing Company, Limited (Ahaura, Nelson), at meetings of shareholders and debentureholders held last week. A southern report states that it is understood the directors are negotiating with a com'- " pany desirous of acquiring an option for six months for a consideration, payable £6OOO in cash and 6000 fully-paid shares in a company to be formed. REPORTS OF MANAGERS Mahakipawa (Marlborough). The blocking strip 60ft.. north of turn-off No. 2 shaft was taken out for another 7ft., and stopped, the bottom having risen right up to the back. The blocking strip on west side of No. 4 east crosscut has been advanced a iurther 22ft. in good grade wash carrying heavy gold 18in. up from the bottom. A blocking strip was commenced off tho south-west prospecting drive, about 20ft. from where it left No. 11 crosscut, and driven for 10ft. in poor grade wash and stopped. A further strip :s being commenced opposite the above. About 2ft. of soft bottom is now showing in the face and the wash contains a fair proportion of large stones, but is of low grado. The No. 2 shaft has now been completely drained to approximately 106 ft. from the surface, at which level the prospecting drive holed through. We have still a few feet to drive to complete the connecting of No. 2 shaft with the present workings. When this is done our ventilation will bo much improved and we will have a second exit which is later to become the main haulage shaft.
