OPERATIONS AT WAIHI [BY. TELEGRAPH —OWN* CORRESPONDENT] WAIHI, Friday The following information has been cabled to the London office of the Waihi Gold Mining Company, Limited : No. 2 Level. —Edward lode: Driving south, the next 24ft. is ore of good grade about 3ft. wide. In the next 23ft. the reef is split up and is falling off in value. No. 5 Level. —Martha lode: The north-west crosscut is now in 350 ft. The face is in andesite, with oxidised joints. North branch of the Martha lode: Driving west,' the next 26ft. assays 8s 9d a ton. The lode is about 4 J ft. wide. Number 6 Level.—North branch of Martha lode: Driving west, the next 30ft. is ore of good grade, about 3ft. wide. The reef has split yp at 473 ft. No. 7 Level.—North branch Martha lode: Have intersected vein 9in. wide at sosft. The course is 18 degrees true north and the dip 1 in 3 north. The assay value is Is 6d a ton. No. 12 Level. —Edward lode: Driving south, the next 45ft. assays 6s 9d a ton. YIELDS OF COMPANIES Talisman D"bbo (Karangahake).— Seventy-two tons of ore were treated at the Golden Dawn battery for an actual return of £529. Mahnkipawa (Marlborough). This week, 360z. Okarito (South Westland). —This week, 28oz. odwt. for 122 hours' work. The. dredge has ceased for the holidays. Goldfields Dredging (Shotover). — This week, 360z. 14dwt. for 124 hours' dredging. Golden Dawn (Owharoa). —For the 12 working days ended December 10 a total of 256 tons of ore . was treated for a return of £832 at £7 2s an ounce. BRIAN BORU DREDGE [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] GREYMOUTH, Friday Repairs to the Brian Boru dredge have been effected and dredging was resumed at midnight on Tuesday. There will be a wash-up this week-end, operations then ceasing until after the New Year holidays.
