ARRANGEMENTS IN THE CITY

THE COMPLETE PROGRAMME DEALING WITH CROWDS A royal welcome ciwaits Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, who will arrive at Auckland by special train from Rotorua on Monday morning. The city is already gay with flags, and the enthusiasm of the people is running high as the long-anticipated day of the coming of the King's third son approaches. Almost five days will be spent in the city by the Prince. Apart from the civic reception, Monday's programme provides for an appropriate ceremony at the Cenotaph, and several social and official engagements. His Royal Highness will spend a quiet Christmas Day, his only engagement being attendance at morning service at St. Mary s Cathedral. The Prince will attend the Ellerslie races on Boxing Day and the Auckland trotting meeting on Thursday. Another important gathering to be attended by His Royal Highness on Thursday will be a children s rally at the Domain. Several Government House functions, including a dinner, a ball and a garden party, are also included in the Prince's Auckland pro-

gramme. At 2 p.m. on Friday the Prince will leave Auckland to continue his Dominion tour in the Waikato, Taranaki, Wanganui, Manawatu and districts.
