MILK PROSECUTIONS
TWO DEFENDANTS FINED Two prosecutions brought by thf Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council were heard before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yesterday. Mr. Drummond represented the council. Eric Poison admitted delivering milk after 8.30 a.m. in breach of a regulation of the 'council,, and explained that he had slept in oh the morning in question. He was fined' 10s, the magistrate saying defendant had been sufficiently and would have -to take greater care to observe the 'hours. Atkinson Webb pleaded guilty to charges of selling mijk without a licence from the,:council and of carrying milk intended for sale in an open bucket. Mr. Drummond said the council considered that such practices constituted a menace to public health. ; The magistrate imposed a fine of 10s Hi respect of each charge, and said the Council's, regulations concerning the banner of conveying milk for sale had » obeyed. As defendant. did not Jropose to continue selling milk, he *ould not be heavily fined.
