Lynch, who has bee n awarded the Lord Bledisloe prize at Massev College for the best second-year student in the course for the agricultural science degree, is a son of Mr. W. Lynch, of Hastings. He won a Ruakura' Scholarship, entitling him to & two-year course of training at the Ruakura" Instructional Farm, and on th« termination of that course he continued bis studies with marked success at Massey College. Captain W. L. Jackson, D.5.0., R.N., who recently returned to England from New Zealand in command of H.M.S. Veronica, has been appointed to command H.M.S. Despatch in tha 3rd Cruiser Squadron, -Mediterranean Fleet. He succeeds Captain the Hon. E. R. Drummond, M.V.0., who in April will succeed Rear-Admiral F. Burges-Watson, D.5.0., as Commodore commanding the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy. . .
