THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE HEAVY DAY'S TRADING Bus inoss was particularly brisk on the Auckland Stock F.xchange yestcrdav, especially in industrials. Support for Government loans was irregular. After dropping sharply earlier in the week the 1946 issue of 4 per cent bonds rpse by £1 15s in a sale at £lO5 15a, while the same issue o f*4 per cent stock was 5s firmer at £lO5- In miscellaneous debentures the ?944 per cent issue of Amalgamated Prick (Auckland) was taken unchanged at £lO3. Iu banks support was very firm for New South Wales, three sales of which ■were completed at £3-2 10s, an advance of'ss. New Zealinids were unaltered in dealing ft -'Ss (3d. Levels were fairly steady f°r other banking issues. Xew Zealand Insurance were sought at 6ss 3d, and a sale at this figure showed a decline of Gd. Offers later dropped to 67s (3d. • Abraham aiul Williams preference sold dividend at 87s, while Guarantee Corporations were done unchanged at 5s lOtl. The contributing issue of Auckland Gas was 6d weaker in a sale at 19s (id. Current price transactions were made in Devonport Ferries and Northern Steams. Bartholomew Timbers were done Is 6d weaker in two gales at lis 6d, but Taupo Totaras . fl-ere steady in dealing at ss. An easing of 3d occurred in British Tobaccos, which were transferred at, 42s Gd. Two parcels of Colonial Sugars firere released at £4O, with more sought at £lO 15s. The preference issue of Electrolytic Zinc: had sale 9d firmer at 35s 3d, and New Zealand Refrigerating (£l. paid) changed hands at 20s 3d, an• easing of -Id. CLOSING QUOTATIONS
