ATTACKED BY EEL
The conger col is noted for exceeding ferocity at times, ajid the recent experience of a Bluff fisherman while engaged in scrubbing the bottom of the ketch Mukura at the head of the harbour bears ample witness to tho fact. The eel sank its teeth into the fisherman's gumboot and commenced a vicious tugging. Released by a companion, who killed tho eel, which measured 7it. in length, the. fisherman examined the boot and found it to be unfit for iurther use. The encounter took place at night time in about 2l't'. of water.
