PUBLICITY IN AUSTRALIA
FURTHER OFFICES URGED ADDRESS TO TRAVEL CLUB The opinion that the New Zealand Government should give serious- consideration to the establishment of offices in more Australian cities was expressed by the Hon. Eliot It. Davis, M.L.C., in the course of an address at» a luncheon of the Auckland Travel Club, held in Milne and Chovce's Reception Hall yesterday. Mr. Davis paid a tribute to the excellent work being done by Mr. L. J. Schmitt, New Zealand Trade Commissioner in Sydney, and by Mr. R. M. Firth ip the Melbourne office, he maintained that the system should be extended to -the other main cities. This course would result in increased cost, he said, but he did not think the Government could spend money better than by advertising its own wares, which were well worth advertising. Remarks by Mr. Davis regarding the beauty of New Zealand's scenery, with which, he claimed, no scenery in the world could compare, and the good work being done by the Travel Club in making the Dominion's attractions better known, were endorsed by the chairman, Mr. A. J. Entrican, the Hon. T. Bloodworth, M.L.C., and Mr. A. J. Stallworthy, Mr. A. M. Samuel, Mr. W J. Jordan, and Mr. J. A. Lee, M.P.'s. Particular reference was made to the indefatigable efforts of the secretary, Mrs. J. Victor Macky, in the interests of the club.
