GOLF TEST MATCH

Nov. 26 The golf test match between the United States professionals and Australia was played to-day over 36 holes, the games being four-ball best-ball matches. The results "were: — Runvan and Cooper (United States) defeated V. S. Richardson and F. McMahon, 6 up. Shute and Diegel (United States) defeated M- L. Kelly and R. Stewart, 3 up. Martin Smith and E. Naismith (Australia) defeated Craig Wood and Lafioon, 2 up. This' is tho first time in the history of important golf in Australia that fourhall matches have been played. None of the players reproduced tho quality of the play in the recent championships. Having won two of the three matches to-day, America must win three of the six singles matches tomorrow to win the contest. The game is not regarded favour'ably aud little interest was taken by the public.
