DUKE OF GLOUCESTER

PRIVATE VISIT PAID DEPARTURE FOR ORANGE (Received November 26, 7.20 p.m.) SYDNEY. Nov. 2G The Duke of Gloucester spent to-day at a private homo at Menangle. After riding over the neighbouring countryside he entered the racecourse, where ho challenged his companion, Captain Smart, to a gallop up the straight. The event was unofficially and jocularly described as a dead-heat. The Duke left late to-night for Orange to commence his western tour.
