THE OXFORD SOCIETY

Members of the Auckland provincial branch of the Oxford Society gave a luncheon party at Milne and Choyce, Limited, yesterday, in honour of Sir Alan Anderson, who was a Trinity College man, and is a committee member of the parent body. Lady Anderson was too indisposed to attend. The guest of honour was received by Miss N. L. Dash, honorary provincial convener. Sir Alan spoke enthusiastically of the work being done by the appointments committee and the preservation trust, two important policies of the society, which the parent organisation has much at heart. Ho urged Oxford men and women in New Zealand to unite and keep in close touch with the local convener, so that they may help on the aims and objects of the Oxford Society. Members present included Mrs. Key-Jones, Miss N. L. Dash, Rev. Russell Allerton, Rev. F. de L. Willis, Mr. Keith Buchanan, Mr. R. W. Williams.
