DOMAIN GATHERINGS
Sir, —It is to be hoped that on the occasion of the children's rally in the Domain adequate drinking facilities and proper sanitary accommodation will be provided for the boys and girls, particularly v for those, from the country, who will probably spend a considerable time there. On other occasions, when crowds of children have congregated in the Domain, these facilities have been sadly lacking. At the last annual sports meeting of the Auckland Public Schools' Amateur Athletic Association, held last Easter, the number of taps was inadequate, so that men had to be stationed at each to regulate the queues that were formed. So great was the need that a child was oftenstanding for half-an-hour before its thirst could be quenched. The sanitary accommodation was right on the other side of the Domain, the conveniences for boys and girls were too close together, and the internal arrangements were, to say the least, decidedly primitive and uninviting. It is suggested that now that the City Council is considering improvements to the Domain the subject of proper and permanent sanitary accommodation and drinking facilities,, for large crowds should receive the councillors' most earnest arid urgent attention.
