MATAMATA, Saturday The chief attraction at Bedford Park, Matamata, to-day was the meeting between the two unbeaten teams, Matamata A and Oraka (Putaruru). The visitors batted first in perfect weather and opened badly, losing five wickets for 35. Smith and Berg then made a stand, and, , by,careful cricket, added 86 runs. Facing a moderate total of 90 Matamata gave a very poor batting display and only Delaney showed any form. For Oraka Rennor bowled very well. The match between Matamata B and Oka uia is in an interesting stage with a slight advantage to the former. Details of the scores are:— Oraka: First innings, 90 (Smith 81, Berg 21), and 62 for seven wickets (Smith 12, Guillard 12 not out. Lord 16), Matamata, 57 (Delaney 26 not out).
