SUPERANNUATION FUNDS
Sir, —This discussion is getting awav from the point—tho usefulness of this fund and to whom its value. A concrete case will show one, and j> question to a rank and file man and liis answer will supply the other. (l x A contributor put off at 35 years under tho retrenchment scheme three years ago has just. died. You would think liis widow would pet something, and t-iv 1 did, 12s being all that was !eft of his contributions. The State (or publ'c) has contributed nothing and no interest was added to the money. The widow, by the way, is not entitled to a widow's pension as her Children have all died and she is also not old enough for the old-age pension. (2) The question: "What is your opinion of the fund?" and the biting answer: "A benefit scheme for the man higher up." On the face of the above 1 think it is. L - lS *
