MAN MARRIES HIS "WIDOW"

BRIDE LOST 14 YEARS AGO M. Bezobriazoff, a Russian, has jußt remarried his own " widow." Ho was wounded while serving with the White forces in Siberia during the Russian Civil War. In hospital he fell in love with his nurse and married her. When the White forces evacuated Irkutsk, Bezobriazoff was compelled to retreat with them, leaving his - young wife in hospital, suffering from typhus. She recovered. The husband—who had made inquiries about his wife as soon as he reached Harbin with the remnants of the White Army—had been told that she was dead. So he went to Australia. But after somo years a strange impulse drew him back to Harbin. Ho threw up a well-paid job and left Australia. On tho second day after his arrival in Harbin, M. Bezobraizoff, while wandering about the town, came face to face with a woman and a 14-year-old girl—his wife and the daughter he had never seen.

Their passports described them as " widow " and " widower," and the records of .their marriage in Siberia were inaccessible. Therefore, M. and Mme. Bezobriazoff have been married again
