BANK OF ENGLAND GIANT
In the course of the excavations for the rebuilding of the Bank of England remains of about 800 buried people were found.
The bodies included that of Jenkins, the Bank of England giant, who died about 1750 and was interred in the Bank premises to prevent bodysnatchers stealing the corpse. His coffin, made of load, and weighing 3cwt., was over 7ft. long,
