DEATH IN CHRISTCHURCH [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] CHRISTCHURCH. Monday The death occurred to-day of Mr. Daniel Connelly, formerly well known as a detective-sergeant in the police force', aged 65. He was one of the two detectives who arrested the murderer Eggers following a highway robbery on the West Coast. Since his retirement seven years ago he has been employed by the Racing Conference. He was unmarried.
