Mr. J. Fletcher returned from South by the limited express yesterday morning.
Mr. R. J. Anwyl, of Melbourne, gen. ' eral manager in Australia of Thoma» Cook and Sop, left for Wellington by the limited express last evening.
Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Creagh left for Wellington by train yesterday afternoon. Mr. Creagh will attend the annual conference of the Stock Exchange Association of New Zealand in Wellington to-morrow.
Tho Rev. R. L. Fursdon, minister of the Slmckleton Road Baptist Churc|j, Mount Eden, has accepted a call to the pastorate of the Cavershani Baptist Church, Dunediu. He will take up his new duties on March 1.
Bishop Liston, Roman Catholic Bishop of Auckland, and the Rev. Dr. Buxton, administrator of the diocese, will leave by tho Maramji on Thursday to attend the Eucharistic Congress in Melbourne. They will be away from Auckland for about four weeks.
Mr. G. W. Hutchison, Mayor of Auck. land, who has been attending the Melbourne Centenary celebrations, remained in Melbourne until yesterday to meet Mrs. Hutchison, who is returning from England. They expect to leave Melbourne to-day for Sydney, and will return to Auckland about December 10.
Mr. Hugh Thomson, chairman of the Auckland Importers' Association and a vice-president of the New Zealand Importers' Federation, left by the limited express last evening for Wellington to attend the annual conference' of the federation. He expects to return on Friday. • . „
