THE WILLIAMSTOWN CUP GOTHIC GEM'S VICTORY POOR DISPLAY BY NIGHTLY (Received November 18, 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Nov. 18 Light-weights filled all the places in the Williamstown Cup, which was run in showery weather yesterday. Gothic Gem won decisively from lolaus, with Worthing a close third. Panto' was fourth, and then came L'Elite, Broad Arrow and Flail, with the New Zealander, Nightly, tenth in the field of 16. Nightly ran like a tired, horse, and his trainer, F. D. Jones, is wondering whether he has had enough racing for the time being. Lady Primrose and Debliam were unplaced in the Rawdon Stakes, Saltspray in the first division of the Ozone Handicap and Oriel, Melisande aud Cape Lilock in the Altona Trial Handicap. WIN FOR KING MARCH EVENT AT ROSEHILL SENIOR NARROWLY BEATEN (Received November 18. 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 18 The New Zealand horses King March and Senior fought out the finish of the November Handicap at Rosehill yesterday, the former gaining the verdict by a iong head, Magnitas was third. The stewards inquired the reason why Senior lost his position near the half-mile and accepted the explanations given by the trainer G. Price, and the Jockey, E. C. Britt. They found that there was no dishonest intent, but censored Britt for allowing his mount to drop back without apparent justification. Treasure Trove was unplaced in the second division of the Two-year-old Stakes. Padishah finished seventh in the first divison of the Maiden Handicap, and Ruling Queen was unplaced in the second division of that event. Result:—

Her trainer, 0. .Cox, also has the three-year-old colt Fersen, who has been purchased by him. Fersen, by Verbius from Gallantry, is a brother to Oratory.
