CHALLENGE STILL UNBEATEN Bain interfered with play in the gamtis played under the control of the Otahuhu Cricket Association on Saturday and occasional showers caused breaks during the afternoon. In several games stumps were token some time before the usual hour after each side had played one innings, and there appeared no possibility of reaching a full decision. There were several good scores registered and the leading team, Challenge, again secured a win and jnaintained its unbeaten record. Two batsmen topped the half-century, while several bowlers registered good figures. Results were SENIOR GRADE Challenge v. Mount Richmond.—Challenge: First innings. 140 (Montgomery 63, Watts 4Q, Briruble 15, Trezise 11, Hynes 10). Bowling: Marshall took four wick*4s for 87 runs, Rugg three for 16, Pierce one for 89, Stanaway one for 0, Miller one for 42. Mount Richmond: First innings, 68 (Austin 16. Marshall 13 not out). Bowling: Bright four for 36, Hynes four for 13, Watts one for none. Second innings: Pour wickets for 88 (Pierce 26 not out, Austin 42 not out). Bowling: Bright two for 38, Sutcliffe one for 12. Challenge won on the first innings. Returned Soldiers v. Kempthorne-Prosser. —Returned Soldiers: First innings, 61 (Melrose 17. Stevens 14, Watson 12)._ Bowling: E. Kemplay six for 20 (including "hattrick"), Clayton four for 38. KempthorneProsser; First innings, five wickets for 72 (Marflitt 38 not out, Clayton 13). Bowling: Melrose three for 24, McLaren two for 14. Kempthorne-Prosser won on the first innings. St. Joseph's v. Hellaby's.—St. Josephjs: First innings, 54 (McNeil 17). Second innings, seven wickets for 101, declared (McNeil 44, McCowatt 13, Brewer 13). Bowling: Pilcher six for 43. Tower four for 25. Moore three for 48. Hellaby's: First innings, 83 (Moore 16, Haggie 12. Butler 13 not out, Tower 51 not out). Second innings: Four for 81. Bowling: Brewer six wickets for 25, Greenwood three for 37, McNeil three for 5, Cornelius two for 2. St. Joseph's made a sporting declaration giving Hellaby's a short interval in which to score approximately 80 runs. This was done within a few minutes of time, and Hellaby's gained a six-point win. JUNIOR GRADE Papatoetoe v. Hifth School.—Papatoetoe: First innings, 83 (Mains 26 not out. Fugle 16, Crammond 10). Bowling: Revell three for 20. Elliott four for 30, Roe two for 23, Connell one for 1. High School: First innings, 141 (Elliott 42, Ritchie 34, Connell 22, Combes 16 not out). Bowling: Elliott three for 16. Lusby three for 18, Mains two for 40, Fugle one for 28. High School won on the first innings. Lee ■ and Arlington v. Railway.—Lee and Arlington: First innings, 100 (McAnalty not out 19, Haworth 14).
