FIRST ROUND CONCLUDED A Btrong cross-wind and scattered showers made conditions unpleasant at Waikaraka Park on Saturday, when the concluding series of matches in the first round of the Onehunga Cricket Association's competition were played. NORTH AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Saturday A meeting of thp North Auckland Cricket Association was held last evening, preaided over by Mr. F. H. Cowan. A letter was received from' Mr. E. C. Beale, of Auckland, offering, if possible, to bring a representative cricket team from Auckland to play naif a dozen matches in North Auckland during the period between December 22 and January 9 Mr. Beale said he thought that in the event of a tour being arranged • the itinerary should include three two-day matches at three different centres afjamst the North Auckland representative, team. Delegates at last night's meeting , were very enthusiastic at the offer, and considered it to be the finest yet made for assisting cricket in the North. It .was unanimously decided to forward an invitation to the Auckland Cricket Association asking for a North Auckland tour this season on the lines indicated by Mr. Beale, of whose action a motion of 'appreciation was earned. •
