EXPORT OF BUTTER
DECLINE CONTINUES 13 PER CENT FOR SEASON INCREASE FROM AUSTRALIA In line with the fall in dairy production in the Dominion, shipments of butter this season to October 31 show a reduction of about 13 per cent compared with last season. Exports for the three months' period from August 1 amounted to 27,276 tons, compared with 31,208 tons last year, a decrease of 3932 tons. In October the shipments declined by 1360 tons to 12,579 tons. Of the butter shipped in October to the United Kingdom, 99.72 per cent was consigned ancT .28 per cent sold f.0.b., against. 94 per cent and 6 per cent respectively in October, 1933. The total shipments of Southern Hemisphere butter to the United Kingdom during October were 24,490 tons, compared with 23,353 tons last year, the respective figures being as follows: New Zealand, 12,338 tons (13,849 tons); Australia, 11,882 tons (9029 tons); Argentina, 270 tons (475 tons). To date this season Australia has shipped 2.1,188 tons of butter to Groat Britain, against 16,081 tons last season, the respective totals for Argentina being 805 tons and 588 tons.

Stocks of all butters in London on November 1 were estimated at 29,000 tons, compared with 18,800 tons last year. Stocks in New Zealand and New Zealand stocks afloat comprised 24,064 tons, against 27,340 tons. THE CHEESE POSITION SHIPMENTS ALSO LOWER Shipments of cheese from New Zealand in October amounted to 6191 tons and for the season to October 31 to 15,906 tons, a decrease in both instances of 108 tons compared with the corresponding periods of 1933. In both October, 1934 and 1933, all the cheese was consigned, the proportion of white and coloured 'cheese being 69 per cent and 31 per cent this year, against 63 per cent and 37 per cent last year. Stocks in New Zealand and afloat were 16,150 tons, against 16,971 tons. MINIMUM F. 0.8. PRICES The Now Zealand Dairy Produce Board has fixed the following minimum f.o.b. prices for November 17 onward: — Butter: B|d, less li per cent commission. Cheese: s|d, less li per cent commission.
