ST. PATRICK'S SERVICES

ANNUAL SCHOOL FUNCTION MANY CHILDREN ATTEND A large gathering of 1500 children, drawn from all the Roman Catholic primary and secondary schools and institutions in Auckland, attended the annual school service held at Si. Patrick's Cathedral yesterday afternoon. Bishop Liston and parish priests from the city and suburbs also were present. The service was controlled by Father F. K. Terry, diocesan inspector of schools, and an address was given by Father M. D. Forrest. This was followed by the solemn ceremony of renewal of baptismal vows, and the gathering concluded with a benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, given by Father E. Brill, who had been ordained in the morning. The annual confirmation service was held at the cathedral last evening, 60 children and a. number of adults being confirmed. The ceremony was performed by Bishop Liston.
