BOBBY CALF MEAT STOCKS HELD IN STORE A correspondent writes suggesting that dairy farmers should obtain some share of the profit made on the sale of the meat from bobby calves, which were bought at prices which represented only the value of the skins and sundries. Actually exporters have not yet received permission from the Meat Board to export this meat so that the profits havo not been realised. The meat, although in some cases already sold,, is still in store in New Zealand awaiting shipment. Recently the board agreed to the shipment of meat from calves killed before July 12, tho date of the embargo, these calves having been bought from tho farmers at prices allowing for a sale for the meat. Some exporters did not hold the meat after that date, preferring to boil down the carcases for meat meal.
