SYDNEY OUTRAGE
MESSENGERS ROBBED PEPPER THROWN IN EYES ONE SHOT AND WOUNDED (Received. November 9. 7.25 p.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 9 While two men were carrying bags of money and a pay roll for a local department store at Darlingliurst to-day they were attacked by bandits. Pepper was thrown in their eyes, a shot was fired and a sum of £2O was stolen. The bandits escaped in a motor-car. The victims of the outrage were Messrs. George Oakman, aged 66, and Leslie Klyb, aged 44. The former was shot in the groin.
Both men are in hospital. They are in no danger,* but are suffering intense pain from the pepper in their eyes.
