MELBOURNE MEETING NEW ZEALANDERS' MILE (Received November 10. 12.35 a.m.) 1 MELBOURNE. Nov. 9 Canada, with 83 points, won the inter-Empire schools' sports/ Victoria, 58, was- second, and New Zealand, 29, third. The most thrilling race was the mile, in which "New Zealanders were first and second.
The Empire Gaines broad jump champion, Richardson (Canada), was .defeated by Letcher (Victoria) after a dead heat. The track was heavy. Results are:—
