FIELDS AT RICCARTON
LAST DAIY OF CARNIVAL METROPOLITAN HANDICAP DISCUSSION OF PROSPECTS The week's carnival of racing and trotting in Christchipch concludes today with the fourth day's programme of the Canterbury Jockey Club at Riccarton. The principal race is the Metropolitan Handicap which has drawn 17 acceptors, with Vintage as topweight. Telegraphing last evening the Hkbald's Christchurch correspondent stated that fine weather was again promised and the track would be fast. The order of events has been altered, the Cressy Handicap, the third race, and the Members' Handicap, the eighth race, being transposed. The following horses may be well supported:— Suburban Handicap.—Heather Glow, Samper Paratus, Honest Maid. Seymour Handicap.—Colossian, Quite Soon," Maroha. Members' Handicap. Cranford, Cricket Bat.
