The construction of the new hall afci. Ramarama is rapidly nearirig complect tion and arrangements havo 1 been made to open it on the afternoon of November 24.- The member of Parliament for the district, Mr. J. N. Massey/ has been asked to perforin the cere-{ mony and representatives of locali, bodies and prominent residents have' been invited to attend.
The new hall is on the site occupied, by one which was burned down some" years ago. Earlier this year, a hall committee was formed at a meeting of residents and it was decided to; finance the building by conducting a queen carnival contest for which a further committer was elected. In .the; evening, when the hall is opened, the successful candidate, Miss Beryl Wootten, will be crowned the queen. "L The hall is constructed of wood with a corrugated iron roof and in about 70 feet long and 30 feet wide. The dancing space is 50 feet by 30. feet. The carnival realised over £270, and tb the present most of' the labour has been voluntary. It is hoped to be able to complete the building with the fundi* in hand.
