SCENIC ATTRACTIONS BUSINESS MEN'S DISCUSSION [BY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT] DARGAVILLE, "Wednesday A suggestion that the district should receive further publicity, made by tho Dargaville Chamber of Commerce, was the subject of a letter from the Tourist Department received at a meeting of the chamber to-day. The letter stated that the matter would be considered when the department issued its next booklet on North Auckland.
Mr. Phipps Walker said Dargaville, having one of the finest' scenic assets near it, namely, Waipoua Forest, should ask the Railways Board organise summer tripsi to the kauri forests. The suggestion was adopted. It was decided to ciall a public meeting at an early datß with a view to holding a shopping week carnival!
On the motion of Mr. F. A. Jones, it was decided to-ascertain from the Post and Telegraph Department information as to what steps to take and how many subscribers it would be necessary to have in -order to obtain automatic telephones; in Dargaville,
