BRUTAL ROBBERY
SYDNEY FERRY ASSAULT £llOO TAKEN FROM VICTIM SERIOUS INJURIES SUFFERED SYDNEY, Nov. 6 Mr. Edward Chisholm, aged 61, secretary of a city firm, was brutally attacked on a harbour ferry early this morning and robbed of £llOO. He was then thrown into the harbour by his attackers.
Mr. Chisholm was able to keep afloat, and his cries for help were heard by the ferry crew on the return trip to the city 15 minutes later. He was taken to hospital suffering from a fracture of the skull, and his dying depositions were taken.
It appears that Mr. Chisholm was sitting alone in the bow of the boat when two men approached and stunned him with a blow on the head. It is believed the assailants mingled with the crowd and walked ashore when the ferry reached Neutral Bay.
