LADIES' AUXILIARY
To celebrate the first birthday the members of the St. Luke's Ladies Auxiliary, Manurewn, entertained the parishioners at a social evening. The handsome birthday cake, presented by Mcsdaines Haydcn and Butlcdge, was cut by the senior member, Mrs. Lupt.on, the candle being lit by tho president, Mrs. Carr. Vocal items by Miss Olive Dobson and Mr. Ayling, violin duets by Misses Valmn and Gwen Kelly, 'cello solos bv Miss Lodgers, piano solo by Miss Betty .foliansen and recitations by June Hayden were rendered during the evening. . . An indoor sports competition for a silver challenge cup (presented by Mrs. T-layden) was held, teams from the atixiharv. Mothers' Union, vestry. Bible class, choir, social club and girls Bible class taking part. The vestry team, Messrs. G. Clayton and R. > . Maunscll 1 , proved the winners, with U points, and the auxiliary team. Mcsdames Butlcdge and P. Macdonald, with least points, was awarded the wooden spoon. .Supper and n short dance programme brought a successinl function to a close.
