NEW EAST COAST ROAD
HICKS BAY TO OPOTIKI [by telegraph—owx correspondent] GISBORNE, Tuesday Further improvements have been made to tho new east coast road between Hicks Bay and Opotilci. Several slips block the road between Hicks Bav and Capo Runaway, but when these aro cleared cars should have a fine weather route, which will he an improvement on that of last summer. The metalling of a stretch from the Opotiki county toward Gisborne lias been completed and this will obviate the necessity of cars going down on to the beach while a culvert to replace a bad ford is being completed.
