TOUR RESUMED. ATTENDS YARRA REGATTA LAUNCH R LOWS ONE RACE «i GALA DAY ON THE RIVER By Te!?graph—Press Association—Copyright (Received November 4, 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Nov. 4 Ihe Duke of Gloucester had recovered sufficiently yesterday to enable him to visit Geelong, where he was welcomed by 50.000 people. He returned to Melbourne in time to attend the Henloy-on-Yarra regatta. His Royal Highness was determined to avoid further disappointing the people. He said: " Nothing but a deluge. will keep me away." The day, however, was brilliantly fine and the Henley pageant was brighter than ever before. With the Royal ensign fluttering picturesquely astern the Duke's launch followed one race.

More than 100,000 spectators lined the banks of the river and a gay and festive crowd sauntered along the lawns. The Centenary spirit held full sway.

Decorated canoes, launches and houseboats adorned the river and visitors said the spectacle was the brightest they had seen yet. Dancing was held on the lawns in the evening amid trees festooned with coloured lights, while fireworks soared into the sky. DOMINION ROWERS PLACINGS ON SATURDAY
